Lists of Firsts and Most in Aviation and Sports

The photo is of Cliff Young and shows the Aquarian’s typical friendliness. Image credit goes to Vasilijem 113-12. It was taken from an article in earthlymission.com by Vilmos Molnar published on May 5, 2022, about the unique Young.

For a relatively new technology such as aviation, achievement is often measured by who accomplished a feat first. This may be contrasted to the world of sports, where the best are those who had the most (hits, slams, wins, etc.) or the highest average. In any event, a few astrological signs seem to predominate, thus proving the validity of astrology.

Sports

Distance Runners

My two favorite distance runners—neither are mentioned as record holders–are both Aquarians.

Cliff Young

Cliff Young lived on an isolated farm in Australia.  Because his family was impoverished, he had to round up 2,000 sheep on foot on a 2,000-acre farm. It sometimes took him 2-3 days to capture all the sheep. Young was 61 years old when he entered an ultramarathon between Sydney and Melbourne, a distance of 544 miles. He wore his work clothes and boots.  The other runners stopped to sleep.  Young continued on at night and won with a gait that resembled a shuffle.  It was a classic example of the moral in Aesop’s Fable “The Tortoise and the Hare”: slow and steady wins the race.  Cliff not only had a good race plan but the will and fixity of purpose to execute it. (allthatsinteresting.com/cliff-young) By the way, his “shuffle” is now copied by some ultramarathoners as a way to conserve energy.

Louis Zamperini

Louis Zamperini might have been the first to run a mile in under four minutes.  However, his plane was shot down in the Pacific during World War II, and he was tortured by his captors.  He survived floating in the Pacific in a life raft for 47 days.  The injuries he received ended his running career.  His life is testimony to the indomitability of the human spirit.

Aquarius, Leo, or Aries

My very rough count indicates—it includes a couple of second-place finishes—that about 29/39 feats were accomplished by either an Aquarius, Leo, or Aries. This equates to around 74%, which is certainly statistically significant.
