“Taylor Swift’s power is the stuff of legends, with a tour-stop economic impact that’s been compared to the Super Bowl and an apparent ability to double the yardage of certain NFL stars. A new analysis sought to quantify that influence, and the results are impressive: With the success of her Eras tour, Swift now has an estimated net worth of $1.1 billion, Bloomberg Wealth reports, and that figure’s only expected to grow as the singer returns to the road.” ~ Eve Batey, Vanity Fair
Then there is also the success of her Eras Tour concert film. The film premiered on Oct 11, 2023, and has reportedly secured an estimated $129.8 million at the domestic office as of October 22, 2023.
“With Swifties singing and dancing in the aisles, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” made swift work of dominating the box office this weekend, signaling a potential new era for concert movies.” ~ Los Angeles Times
USA Today even ran an article titled “Taylor Swift has power to swing the presidential election. What if nothing else matters?”
“As a case in point, Sept. 19 was National Voter Registration Day. With one Instagram post, Swift helped the nonprofit group Vote.org register more than 35,000 new voters, a nearly 25% increase over the same day last year. The group also saw a 115% jump in 18-year-olds registering to vote. One day. One Instagram post.”
Update December 2023… Taylor Swift is now recognized as the most influential woman in the music industry, Forbes 5th most powerful woman in the world, and Time’s Person of the Year.
You would have had to have your head in a hole this year not to realize the power of this woman. So, what does the birth chart of a woman with such power look like?
Taylor Swift’s Birth Chart
Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989, in West Reading, Pennsylvania, at 8:26 AM EST. The time is disputed. Some say at 5:17 AM, which gives her a Scorpio Asc with Virgo on the MC… the chart below better exemplifies Taylor Swift’s life story. So let’s go with 8:26 AM.
Taylor Swift’s Capricorn Stellium
Unknowingly describing Taylor Swift’s Capricorn stellium, Carolyn Sloane, a labor economist at the University of Chicago, said, “In addition to being a generational talent, Taylor Swift is a great economist.” Then went on to say, “Taylor has great ideas, is able to scale her ideas, and seems to be pretty risk-seeking.”
Taylor’s Capricorn stellium is strung across her ASC, with Uranus, the lead planet of the stellium, sitting on the ASC. The stelium is intimately linked to her 12th house Sagittarius Sun, because it’s opposite its ruler … Jupiter, in 7° Cancer. Plus, due to rulerships, Capricorn has a rippling effect throughout Taylor’s life.
- Uranus in 4° Capricorn …
- Ascendant in 5° Capricorn
- Mercury in 8° Capricorn
- Neptune in 11° Capricorn
- Saturn in 13° Capricorn
Almost everyone born from late 1988 through the mid-90s has some sort of Capricorn stellium. But what makes Taylor’s unique is that her stellium is stretched across her Ascendant. Also, when she was born, Mercury in Capricorn was entering its direct shadow period, slowing down and preparing to turn retrograde. Taylor’s Mercury turned retrograde by secondary progression when she was 18 years old.
Additionally, Venus had just left Capricorn and, at 1° Aquarius, was already in her direct motion shadow period. Venus turned retrograde by SP when Taylor was 16 years old. Curiously, SP Venus RX reentered Capricorn when Taylor was 33… i.e., 2023.
Taylor Swift and the Power of Black Moon Lilith
The most famous myth about Lilith says she was the first female and was created equal to her male counterpart (Genesis 1). Lilith refused to be subservient to the man, was cast out of Eden, and kept her power. Lilith disrupted the male/female power dynamic by becoming the first woman to go off on her own rather than submit to a man.
Taylor’s Black Moon Lilith is in 4° Scorpio conjunct her 29° Libra MC and exactly sextile Uranus in 4° Capricorn, as well as her Asc in 5° Capricorn and Mercury in 8° Capricorn. Black Moon Lilith represents Divine Feminine Power. Lilith in Scorpio and has amplified powers. Note: Taylor also has Pluto and Mars in Scorpio in her 10th house.
Having Lilith in Scorpio so powerfully placed in a birth chart is no small thing. It’s as if Lilith has claimed Taylor as one of her own and wants her to be the poster child for divine feminine power and compelled her to develop sacred feminine warrior energies and display them to the world.
Taylor’s Lilith on Display
Former radio host David Mueller sued Taylor Swift and her mother for interfering with his contract and causing him to be fired in 2015. Certainly, Taylor’s prominent Lilith was on display when, in 2017, she filed a countersuit for $1 and accused Mueller of groping her at a meet-and-greet event. The jury ruled in favor of Taylor. In a statement obtained by CNN, Taylor said…
“I acknowledge the privilege that I benefit from in life, in society, and in my ability to shoulder the enormous cost of defending myself in a trial like this. My hope is to help those whose voices should also be heard. Therefore, I will be making donations in the near future to multiple organizations that help sexual assault victims defend themselves.”
Taylor was one of the Silence Breakers, TIME’s Person of the Year in 2017. These were the five women who inspired other women to speak out about sexual misconduct.
Mad Woman
It’s a long story that you can read online, but in 2018 Taylor Swift lost the rights to all the albums, music videos, associated art, copyrights, and performance rights affiliated with her work up to 2018. As a result, she received no monetary profit from the use of this large catalog of music, nor could she control the how, who, when, and where it was recorded or performed. She was even blocked from performing a medley of her hits at the American Music Awards, where she was honored with the Artist of the Decade award in November 2019.
Taylor described Borchetta’s selling the label to Braun as her “worst case scenario” and accused Borchetta of selling to Braun despite knowing she opposed it.
“He knew what he was doing; they both did. Controlling a woman who didn’t want to be associated with them. In perpetuity. That means forever.” ~ Taylor Swift
Swift also spoke of her situation with Braun and the “toxic male privilege” of the music industry in her Woman of the Year speech in December 2019.
Taylor was a mad woman. What did she do? She found a loophole and is in the process of updating and rerecording all the albums she made before 2018… changing the songs a bit, adding some new songs, and adding “Taylor’s Version” to the titles. “Taylor’s Versions” have been very successful. In the process, she evaded Braun’s (the owner of the older masters) control and devalued the old masters that were withheld from her.
Taylor also got the last word in on her infamous feud, courtesy of the dark ballad “Mad Woman.” In the 2020 song (which could be Black Moon Lilith’s anthem), Taylor likens herself to a scorpion and a bear to illustrate how women are poked and prodded until they are finally forced to react to prejudicial treatment.
Recalling Lilith Fair
Interestingly, Taylor Swift did a very candid 2019 interview with Rolling Stone that relates to the problematic side of a Capricorn Stellium with a Sagittarius Sun, Libra on the MC conjunct Lilith in Scorpio. In the interview, she talks about her difficulties, speaking up for herself, and earning respect as a young woman in the music industry.
Taylor’s problems reminded me of the Lilith Fair music festivals that were designed to give women the same lucrative touring concerts as men. “In the mid-1990s, women dominated mainstream radio but were repeatedly told they couldn’t tour together because it wouldn’t sell tickets.” Lilith Fair was cofounded by singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan and named to honor the Lilith of Hebrew lore that says she was Adam’s first wife who would not be subservient to him and “bolted from the Garden of Eden to search the Earth for adventure.”
Born During a Full Moon Phase
Born during a Full Moon phase, Taylor was born infected with an urge toward greatness. She has high expectations of herself but could also feel pulled in two directions. This inner tug of war may have spurred her onto even greater achievements as it reminded her that no matter what she has or does, it’s never enough.
Why 2023?
Life progresses to the rhythm of the Secondary Progressed Solar/Lunar cycle.
Taylor had her first SP New Moon on July 9, 2004, in 6° Capricorn conjunct her ASC, Uranus, Mercury, and Neptune. She was 14 years old. What happened? Taylor’s family moved to Nashville, Tennessee, so that she could pursue her career in country music.
Her SP Full Moon was Cancer 20° on August 3, 2018. Taylor was 28 years old ( Yes, Saturn return, also). What happened? At The American Music Awards of 2018, Swift made history when she won a record-breaking 22 trophies, surpassing Whitney Houston as that show’s most decorated female artist.
Now, in 2023, she’s in her SP Disseminating Phase. She’s changed and grown and wanted to connect with people, flex her muscles, share her talent with the world, and demonstrate what she could do. Of course, as Sagittarian luck would have it, Taylor was also graced with both transiting Uranus and Jupiter, making their way through Taurus in 2023, creating a trine aspect to her Capricorn stellium.
Of course, there’s so much more that could be said about Taylor’s life and birth chart. But I’ll stop here
