What do Elizabeth Taylor, Oprah Winfrey, Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham, and Meryl Streep have in Common? They all have a cazimi planet in their birth chart.
What is a Cazimi Planet?
Cazimi plants are fascinating, but like so many other topics in astrology, they’re rarely discussed (unless you’re into Horary astrology.) However, cazimi planets are also helpful when reading a natal chart.
“Cazimi” is an astrological term that means a planet is “in the heart of the Sun.” Such a planet is said to receive a significant power boost from the Sun. A cazimi planet occurs when the Sun in the birth chart is within 1 degree (or 17 arc minutes, depending on your tradition) from another planet.
A Cazimi planet is embraced by the Sun and granted superhero qualities.
Cazimis occur at different timelines, all tied to the planet’s exact conjunction with the Sun.
- A Mercury cazimi happens six to seven times a year
- A Venus cazimi happens roughly every nine months
- A Mars cazimi occurs approximately every two years
The Sun also empowers the slower-moving social and transpersonal planets by embracing them once yearly during its journey around the zodiac.
Elizabeth Taylor’s Superhero is Mercury in Pisces
Elizabeth Taylor’s birth chart shows her Sun at 7° 17′ in Pisces and her Mercury at 7° 28′ in Pisces.
Individuals with Mercury in Pisces have creative visions, empathetic insights, and intuitive downloads. Elizabeth poured her supercharged Pisces mind into her acting. With her superhero ability to visualize a character’s physical appearance, quirks, and emotions and to internalize, experience an inner monologue, and morph into the characters she played, she brought them to life in her work.
Sophie Rosenstein, a drama coach in studio-era Hollywood, said:
“Only when the actor brings into being this inner life—this stream of consciousness of another being—can he be said to be acting creatively. Over and over again, Taylor did precisely this kind of inner monologue work. The result is beautifully detailed, emotionally moving performances.”
Remember Raintree County (1957), where she channeled a displaced Southern belle who marries an abolitionist; or Butterfield 8, where she channeled a conflicted New York call girl (1960): or when she channeled a loudmouthed, shrewish, unkempt but vulnerable woman in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf? (1966). Mercury in Pisces cazimi was the superhero behind Elizabeth Taylor’s emotionally moving performances.
Oprah Winfrey’s Superhero is Venus in Aquarius
Oprah was born on January 29, 1954, at 4:30 AM CST in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Her Sun is at 8 59′ Aquarius, and her Venus is at 8 51′ Aquarius.

“When you undervalue what you do, the world will undervalue who you are.” ~ Oprah Winfrey
Oprah had a humble beginning, but her eyes were on her future. She constantly nurtured a belief that her past wouldn’t equal her future and that she had the power to prevail over difficult circumstances, which proved to be true. At the age of 17, she won the Miss Black America Tennessee Beauty Pageant and went on to become a freethinking, independent woman – one of the most influential women in America and a self-made billionaire philanthropist.
Her image has graced the cover of “O” magazine well over 200 times. Oprah’s best friend, Gayle King, explained this by saying:
“It was never her intention to be the cover girl the whole time… but the thing is, whenever Oprah’s on any other magazine, it outsells. Can you think of anybody else better on the cover than Oprah?”
Orpah receives adoration for her desire to right social wrongs and has been awarded many prestigious honors. In 2013, President Barack Obama awarded her the nation’s highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom. President Obama said:
“These are the men and women who, in their extraordinary lives, remind us all of the beauty of the human spirit, the values that define us as Americans, the potential that lives inside of all of us.”
Aaron ‘Wheelz’ Fotheringham’s Superhero is Mars in Scorpio
You may have never heard of Wheelz; I hadn’t until I began searching for someone born with Mars cazimi, and up popped this extreme wheelchair athlete who was born with Spina Bifida and has never had complete use of his legs.
I found an interview in which the writer unknowingly spoke of Wheelz’s Mars in Scorpio cazimi, saying:
“People who not only fly higher, go faster, and do more than those around them, who not only shape the future of the sports they’re in, but who also put in the sweat and the blood to make it all happen, week after week, day after day. This is why the man they call Wheelz is Superhuman.”
Wheelz was born on November 9, 1991, in Los Vagas, Nevada (no birth time available.) His Sun is at 15° 54 Scorpio. His Mars is at 15°46 Scorpio.

Meryl Streep’s Superhero is Uranus in Cancer
Meryl Streep is Hollywood’s most versatile film actor. She has distinguished herself with three Academy Awards and has been nominated 21 times, more than any other actor in history.
Meryl Streep was born on June 22, 1949, at 8:05 AM EDT in Summit, New Jersey (Rodden Reliability AA). Her Sun is at 0°43′ Cancer, and Uranus is at 0°44′ Cancer.
A Solar-Powered Uranus in Cancer
Meryl Streep was born in 1949, just as the Sun and Uranus entered Cancer. Uranus spends approximately 7 years in each sign. With Uranus in Cancer, the 1950s were not as peaceful or conformist as we’ve been led to believe. Because simmering beneath the image of the “1950s perfect family” was discontent with the status quo, which led to the tumultuous 1960s and considerable advances in women’s rights (among other things). Meryl Streep was a child of the 50s.
Throughout her career, Streep has staunchly advocated for women in the film industry. Her wide range of diverse and controversial roles has pushed the boundaries and broken new ground for women on screen.
Meryl Streep once told Daily Variety:
“She was proud of the integrity of her career, of “this eccentric, quirky collection of movies I’ve done, all with their idiosyncratic pleasures.”
Streep was awarded an honorary doctoral degree from Indiana University. After receiving the honor, she had a conversation with Professor Barbara Klinger in which she talked about embracing your inner weirdness by saying:
“For young men and women, too, what makes you different or weird, that’s your strength. Everyone tries to look a cookie-cutter kind of way, and actually, the people who look different are the ones who get picked up. I used to hate my nose. Now, I don’t.”
