Ninth House Stellium: The Road Less Traveled

Individuals with a 9th house Aquarius stellium are generally intelligent and good at speaking, writing, and storytelling. Garth Brooks is a singer, performer, and songwriter whose songs tell stories. He was inducted into the Song Writers Hall of Fame in 2011.

His music and lyrics reveal that he believes in diversity and accepts people from different backgrounds. He is an open-minded humanitarian and the “People Loving People” Aquarian singer.

Aquarius Midheaven

With an Aquarius Midheaven, Garth Brooks’ claim to fame was to come from doing something unique and different from everyone else. True to his exaggerated Aquarian nature, he infused his brand of country music with new sounds and athletic performances that rivaled stadium rock bands.

His vocals were aggressive, and the videos accompanying his music contained globally themed storylines (Aquarius.) Some of his most controversial works, The Thunder Rolls, Friends in Low Places, and We Shall Be Free, all deal with Aquarian issues. Garth Brooks’ Aquarius stellium is written throughout his music and life story.

Garth Brook’s Early Family Life

Uranus, the ruler of his Aquarius stellium, MC, and 9th house, is in Leo in the fourth house and conjuncts his IC. Uranus reveals that his push for worldly fame (MC) began with home and family. Another indicator of his early life’s importance to his fame is that the South Node is precisely conjunct his Aquarius Sun.

Garth Brooks had a very Aquarian up bring. He was raised in a blended yours-mine-ours family (an Aquarian family). He was the youngest of six kids. His older brother Mike says, “Garth a clown. He was a sweet, sweet-natured kid. It was always kind of, ‘How can I get my space in the group?'”

Brooks says, “The dynamic of our family was 120 miles an hour, 24 hours a day. It was never quiet; it was never calm.” (Uranus on the IC and in the fourth). He also says that he and his brothers were instilled with fear “to keep them on track” by their stern former military father (Mars conjunct Saturn in Aquarius – the driving force of his Aquarius stellium). He told the boys, “I don’t care if it’s tiddlywinks, you’re gonna be on a team. You’re gonna be part of something bigger than you can be by yourself” (Aquarius).

Tenth House Pisces Moon

His mother, Colleen Carrol, was a singer who gave up her career to raise the kids. She appeared on the Ozark Jubilee and recorded several country singles in the 50s. With a Pisces Moon, you can bet Garth’s mother fostered a sense of creativity, imagination, and a love of music during Garth’s childhood.

Due to his Aquarius stellium, Garth Brooks has a distinct personality, can exude confidence, and never wants to be like anyone else. Still, at times, he can also feel humble and unworthy. He is a magnetic and friendly individual who is a team player, treats everyone as an equal, and is socially conscious. But Garth tends to be a loner with a tremendous need for freedom and independence.

Garth Brooks was so dedicated to his “Aquarian mission” that he forgot about his loved ones. However, after his mom Colleen died of cancer in 1999 and he knew his marriage “was not going to work,” Brooks announced his retirement. According to People magazine, Garth said:

“You knew the things that were important from my own mom and dad. From Sandy’s mom and dad. Everything was telling me I need to be there for my children.”

Once his children were gone from home, he began his comeback World Tour in September 2014 with his current wife, Trisha Yearwood.
