Dr. Louis J. Camuti
Louis J. Camuti was the first veterinarian to specialize in felines. Born on August 30, 1893, he suffered from typhoid fever as a child and was bedridden. His mother accidentally left food unattended on the stove and a fire resulted. Smoke crept throughout the house. Louis’s pet kitten walked back and front of his face, kept him awake, and smoke from his nostrils. To thank his pet for saving him, Camuti became a veterinarian. *
Initially, to make ends meet, Dr. Camuti treated all kinds of animals. His practice in Westchester, New York grew, and he opened another office in Park Avenue. Louis gradually began to specialize in cats. He made home visits because his patients did better in those environs but also because their owners were often single or childless. Camuti passed away in 1981. *(A Biography about Louis J. Camuti, DVM, Dr. Donald F. Smith, ecommons.cornell.edu)
Louis J. Camuti, DVM Horoscope

Louis Camuti’s time of birth is not known.
In Dr. Camuti’s chart we see a Sun/Mars conjunction in Virgo together with an Aries Moon. This indicates his trailblazing efforts. Making house calls was probably easy for him as he has a stellium in Gemini, and the chart as a whole has a mercurial emphasis. However, Camuti did have one problem. His patients ran and hid under the bed when they heard him! It should be noted Virgo is one of the signs associated with medicine.

Dr. Jan Pol
Another Virgo vet, much better known, thanks to his hit television show*, is Dr. Jan Pol. He has a large and small animal practice in rural Michigan and has treated over 23,000 animals.
Many of the problems Pol had to deal with concerned birthing and euthanasia. About ninety percent of the births of calves and foals are normal. Ten percent are quite problematic. The animal is stuck in the birth canal, coming out the wrong way, dead, or deformed. (Never Turn Your Back on an Angus Cow, by Dr. Jan Pol with David Fisher)
Animals grow old or become quite sick and cannot be cured. They are in pain. These are put down, so they do not suffer.
Dr. Pol says this about approaching unknown cats: “Cats are confident creatures; they believe they’re in charge, so you have to show them you are not afraid of them. If they think of you at least as an equal, they won’t bother you.” (Never Turn Your Back on an Angus Cow, p. 228-229)
Midnight, obviously a black cat, was left at the clinic. He was a neutered male, unafraid of anything. He liked to hop up on the counter and watch the customers. When he was hungry, Midnight would saunter to the electric can opener and press down on the lever with his paw. If nobody responded to the sound, he kept pressing the lever. (Ibid, 229)
Tater, a black cat, was rescued from a shelter by Dr. Pol. His leg had been caught in a trap, injured badly, and had to be amputated. His “furever” home became the clinic. (Dr. Pol’s Post, Facebook, October 13, 2020)

Dr. Jan Pol’s Horoscope

The actual time of birth for Jan Pol is unknown.
Looking at Dr. Jan Pol’s horoscope as a whole, we see it is in a classic bundle pattern. All the planets are clustered together. Indeed, eight fall within an arc a little over 90 degrees. Marc Edmund Jones noted that all the energies are narrowly directed. This configuration is outstanding for a doctor or researcher.
Neptune, the planet of illumination, is in analytical Virgo and conjoined with Mars. Mars in Virgo gives ingenuity and practical ability. Dr. Pol has considerable diagnostic skill. **
Interestingly enough, Mercury is in Libra, a sign associated with partnership. However, here it is trine both Uranus and Saturn. The trine to Uranus made Pol inventive and dexterous. He often had to think outside the box in his practice, for he responded to many, many emergency calls. The trine of Saturn made him scrupulously honest with his patients’ owners and added depth of thought.
Jan’s Moon in Cancer lent a sympathetic nature toward our four-legged friends and a need to protect them. Jupiter in Cancer made Pol generous and together with the Moon’s position provided intuition and a feel for what injured animals needed.
____________
**When Pol could not determine what caused an animal’s demise, he performed an autopsy on his own time and expense. This made him a formidable diagnostician.
