The History of the Future

Nostradamus Dates the End of the World

by Larry A. Filoso, January 2023

See Doctor Nostradamus vs. The Plague: Fight of the Century!

Wow! What a scary title? But don’t worry, we’re not talking about the end of Planet Earth. This article is about the coming Reboot of human civilization leading us to The Golden Age, and Nostradamus tells us when and how.

Nostradamus did not consider himself a “Prophet of God”, those who speak intimately with the Supreme Being and hear future events that will infallibly occur like Moses or Mohammed. He describes himself as a “seer”, one who uses many different techniques to forecast future probabilities. He emphasizes that humans always have choices.

What if Nostradamus had come into possession of ancient manuscripts which detailed long cycles of the destruction and renewal of human civilization, repeating many times over the past hundreds of thousands of years? What if he had re-discovered when our civilization will end and how it will happen? Wouldn’t that be THE most important prediction of his life and for the future of humans on Earth?

Wouldn’t that have been the central theme of his predictions and yet so scary and controversial that he had to cloak the truth in secret codes? People living in the 16th century would not have been able to comprehend the idea of a huge rock from space hitting the Earth going as fast as a bullet… of the continents shifting as the spin of the Earth changes dramatically… of the great tall buildings that humans have constructed, crumbling and turning into concrete dust and mud as almost all life on Earth ends, leaving only creatures two-by-two and Adam and Eve to begin again the next cycle of civilization.

What, you’ve never heard of Nostradamus? This genius lived during the Renaissance from 1503 until 1566, mostly in France. He was born Michel de Nostredame into a wealthy educated family and he learned to speak and write four languages including Latin. As a youngster he also learned astrology from his grandfather. When he disagreed with the professionals about the exact time an eclipse would occur and was proven to be more accurate than them, his classmates gave him the nickname “Little Astrologer”.

He went on to medical school and became a hero plague doctor who saved thousands of lives and invented wholistic medicines and perfumes. In his later years he was a doctor and astrological advisor to the French Queen Catherine de’ Medici and King Henry II. [1]

Today he is best known for his legacy – two volumes containing predictions about the future, titled “Les Prophéties” (“The Prophecies”). The first volume was published in its entirety in 1557 and the second in 1568. Together they listed [Add: about] 1,000 numbered predictions in poetic verse, and others in a prose style. Many of them refer to prophecies which were part of Nostradamus’s religion, Catholicism. But as I will detail in future articles, he also studied the prophecies of other religions and those of Greece, Rome, and Egypt.

Almost 400 years later during WWII, both the Axis and Allies used these predictions as propaganda because they were so well-known all over the world. From the 1930s to the 1950s, Hollywood made at least six short films describing his prophecies and how they portended victory and prosperity for Britain and America. Even today when a big disaster occurs social media is flush with references to a Nostradamus prediction that might have foretold it.

This is the second in a series of articles based upon my 45 years of exclusive research into our shared desire to know the future before it happens. Down through the centuries in most periods and cultures, there have been those who have said that they possess that power. People have claimed to see the future by reading the stars, tea leaves, head bumps, playing cards, animal guts, bones, crystals, clouds, numbers, palms, their dreams, statistical probability and many other methods. Even today we have weather forecasts and stock forecasts and economic forecasts and ultrasound pregnancy pictures trying to predict the future.

In this series, I invite you to come with me on an adventure as we uncover clues, discover news and follow the trail until we find out more about this man of mystery, his legacy and what he can teach us. In future articles I will share what I’ve learned through years of research into The Golden Age. Surprisingly, our founding fathers thought that we were entering that Age when they created America, just as Nostradamus predicted!

In the next article we will hear in his own words HOW Michel de Nostredame was able to see distant places and future times to make his predictions. Could he have had help from a computer which came from another time and place? I will translate his rarely seen writings in which he laid out sequential timelines of unbelievable events for hundreds of years into his future… then we’ll look to see how accurate he has been so far. Stay tuned…

By the way, I’m going to use the word “meteor” but the accurate term is “bolide”, since that means a falling small meteor, comet or asteroid. Any of these “alien” objects could hit the Earth. They have done so in the past.

Occasionally in the text you will see “[CWT]”. This means that what follows it is what my friends and family call one of my “Crazy Weird Theories”.

What Set Me on this Treasure Hunt?

I grew up in a rural area with clear night skies perfect for stargazing. After working in the yard all day, Dad and I would sit on the grass and look up at the beautiful twinkling stars revealing themselves one-by-one as the Sun set and night fell. I think this is one reason why I love Astronomy and Astrology. Every few weeks we would see a meteor streak across the sky and he told me all about them. Later I went to the library to learn even more. There I read that meteors sometimes hit the Earth, but that they are small and very rarely do much damage. After it hits the ground what remains of the meteor is called a meteorite. I even carried a small one around with me in my pocket.

At that time in the mid 1960’s, scientists thought that big meteors almost never hit the Earth. Even with the naked eye we can see that the Moon has many craters which resulted from meteor impacts in the past making it look like a large meteor-magnet. This early exposure to meteors became important to my treasure hunt as you’ll see later.

I also liked the idea of predicting the future. Perhaps that was because as a Boy Scout I learned their motto “Be Prepared”. The best way to Be Prepared is to estimate what could happen in the future and make provisions for it, right?

The Sky Is Falling

One day in school in the late 1960’s, one of my teachers told our class about the legend of Atlantis. The story comes from a book by the famous Greek genius Plato (427-347 BCE) and he says that it came from the Ancient Egyptians centuries before his time.

It begins by introducing Atlantis, an advanced civilization on a continent in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean in the distant past. Then it describes how that entire civilization was wiped-out by a global cataclysm punctuated by major earthquakes. The continent on which it lay sank into the oceans’ depths in a single day and night around 11,000 years ago.

The teacher said that no civilization and continent could just disappear overnight and that proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the story could not be true. I popped up and said “But what about a giant meteor slamming into the Earth”? The entire class laughed and the teacher moved on to the next subject. I put my hand into my pocket and touched the little meteorite that I carried with me.

Fast-forward 30 years. Geologists began exploring examples of the effects of seismic activity occurring in the past. Two-thousand years ago all of the Egyptian city of Alexandria was above water, but now parts are about 20 feet under the sea. The evidence is that this disaster occurred quickly in 365 AD and was caused by a major earthquake and tsunami, which may have ultimately been caused by a meteor smashing into the earth.

In the late 1970’s I met a local astronomer. I asked him that burning question: “Could a large meteor destroy civilization”? His answer was yes, but he said that large meteors never hit the Earth. If they had, they would have left large obvious craters like the many that we see on the Moon, hit by meteors many times.

Great Meteor Crater, Arizona

All that changed in the early 1980’s when Dr. Luis Walter Alvarez and son proposed a theory, at first laughed at by the scientific community. They believed that millions of years ago a large meteor slammed into the Earth in what today is called the Gulf of Mexico, causing such global destruction that all of the dinosaurs died and became extinct. [2]

In the 40 years since then, others scientists have presented evidence proving this theory and proposing that the meteor actually killed 75% of ALL life on Earth. Now that the door (and scientific minds) has been opened, science is awash with theories that at various times in our history other meteors may have affected the Earth’s history and inhabitants. I will write in later articles about some of them. Take the meteor strike which may have occurred around 532 AD (CE) and brought about “The Dark Ages”. We will also examine evidence that there are indeed many large craters surviving on Earth. Some are probably millions of years old.

Places in the world far away from the site of the meteor impact would suffer too. Jet streams in the air and Gulf streams in the seas would be altered, resulting in dramatic climate changes all over the earth. Some volcanoes in different parts of the world would erupt raining down fire, burning stones and toxic gas.

To date, much of the evidence from the fields of climatology, archeology and history has shown that this extreme climate change was precisely what happened around 9000 BCE. This was the same period that Atlantis was destroyed according to the writings of Plato. Scientists call that period the “Younger-Dryas” period. A few brave souls have even speculated that it was caused by a meteor impact. [3]

Plato’s story of Atlantis was shocking enough but something else he wrote almost knocked me out of my chair: that it happens over-and-over-again. “There is at long intervals a variation in the course of the heavenly bodies…” wrote Plato, causing civilization to be destroyed by fire, water, or both. [4]  Then civilization restarts. For the paths of the stars and planets to change, the Earth’s axis and/or its rotation would have to change. Could this type of global destruction happen in my lifetime? I just had to find out.

The “long intervals” that Plato was describing are part of what today’s astronomers call “Precession”, variations over thousands of years of the Earth’s axis, the star to which the North Pole points and the course of the heavenly bodies. Plato was well aware of Precession and called it “The Great Year”.

Shortly after our calendar page turned to the year 2,000 (the new Millennium), I was studying a book about Astronomy called “The Big Splat” which discusses astronomers’ theories about how the Moon came to be. It ends by laying out the prevailing theory – that a long time ago a planet one tenth the size of Earth named Theia “plows into Earth with the energy of trillions of hydrogen bombs” and “The misshapen Earth is spilling its guts like a watermelon shot with a rifle”. [5]  That’s how our Moon was created, from that ejected material which came from the Earth’s core combined with the remnants of Theia.

In that book I read about another ancient Greek genius named “Anaxagoras” (c. 500 – c. 428 BC) who was one of the teachers of Plato. He had authored at least one book about astronomy which is now considered lost or hidden. [6]

He theorized that the Moon and Sun are spheres floating in space. He was the first that we know of to understand that solar eclipses occur when the Moon passes in front of the Sun blocking its light. He believed that the Milky Way is composed of individual stars, rather than being one sparkling object. He was the first to study meteors. Some call him the first astronomer.

In fact, history says that Anaxagoras actually predicted that a meteor would fall near his area. I wonder if he used astrology. Within a year an automobile-sized stone fell from the heavens and hit the Earth nearby with much noise and fanfare. For hundreds of years the town in which it fell was a tourist destination. The townspeople setup a sign “The Meteor that Anaxagoras Predicted”. [7]

The public doesn’t yet have copies of Anaxagoras’ manuscript(s) so what little we know about him comes from sparse references to his work in the writings of later authors. Nostradamus implies that there was more information to which we do not yet have access.

When I read that name, a light immediately went off inside my head. Where had I seen it before… in Nostradamus’s prophecies? I ran to the bookshelf to check. Indeed I found his words:

“Because according to the celestial signs the reign of Saturn will return, when all is calculated, the world is approaching an Anaxagoric revolution”. [8]

The seer further states “…where the great eternal God will come [in the form of a giant meteor], which will change the axis of the Earth, so that the paths that the Sun, Moon, planets, and stars follow as they appear to move across the sky will change. This change will make the Earth ”stable and fixed for us…” [9]

Interestingly, like Nostradamus in his day and many unique thinkers today, Anaxagoras was just too cutting-edge. His theories conflicted with the publicly-held idea at the time that the Sun and Moon were representations of gods. He was arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced to death. Sometimes thinking “outside the box” can be very dangerous. He barely escaped execution. [10]  Anaxagoras was even too cutting-edge for modern astronomers until a few decades ago. But not for Nostradamus!

Given that history lesson, it is easy to see why Nostradamus used so many secret codes to encrypt his meanings. A copy of Anaxagoras’ book was one of many that the intellectual underground of Europe managed to secretly procure and study. This ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian knowledge formed the basis and genesis of the European Renaissance (“Rebirth”) in the 16th century.

Nostradamus tells us that he was in possession of ancient books which had for a long time been hidden (and remain so today). [11]  Could he have read a book by Anaxagoras the Greek about a meteor hitting the earth? In the next article I will reveal how he laid his hands on a copy of a two-thousand-year-old book.

How Big?

Nostradamus not only warns us about “The Great Reboot” but he describes the meteor and what it does. Let’s take a look at Century 1, Quatrain 69:

“The great round mountain of seven stades,
After peace, war, famine, inundation,
Will roll far ruining great countries,
Even ancients, and great foundation.”

A huge rocky meteor flying through space would look like a “rolling round mountain”. Here is an example of one of his secret codes. Few people during Nostradamus’s time or even in the present day would know what a “stade” is. It is a Roman unit of measurement equal to about 600 feet. Here I believe that Michel de Nostredame is estimating that the size of the meteor which will strike the Earth “ruining great ancient countries” will be about 4,300 feet. That would make it three quarters of a mile in diameter. By contrast, the meteor which destroyed the dinosaurs was over seven times that size. The one which exploded over Chelyabinsk, Russia on February 15, 2013 bursting windows and injuring 1,500 people was only 65 feet in diameter.

By the way, I believe that “the great foundation” to which he refers is effectively the axial rotation of the earth which determines the course of the stars in the sky. This term was used in ancient times. For example, in the KJV Bible, Psalms 82:5 reads “…all the foundations of the earth are out of course.”

Adding all of this together, it seemed that a lot of ancient people were trying to tell us something. Perhaps the most important thing ever – that one day a big meteor will strike the Earth causing massive destruction and a Reboot of civilization. CLUE # 1.

*PREDICTION: within 40 years controlled meteors will be used as weapons.

Reading the context of that Nostradamus passage, it seems like he had dated that event. Like everything else in his predictions, he put all of this in secret code. Calling Sherlock Holmes!

The Longest Eclipse in History

Nostradamus wrote that he had a specific date for each Quatrain and prediction. [12]  So he must have dated the literally “Earth-shaking” events of which I write. The next code that I cracked is perhaps the most personally satisfying of all the secrets which I have pried from the writings of Michel de Nostredame. The answer is so elegantly simple and yet it has baffled students of Nostradamus for hundreds of years.

In a passage in Volume 2, he says about The Great Reboot:

“And [the floods and fires mentioned in his previous sentences] will precede a solar eclipse [which will be] the most obscured and the darkest so far, since the creation of the world to the death and passion of Jesus Christ and even as of now; and [it] will be in the month of October that this great translation will be made, and such that the gravity of the Earth will have lost its natural motion, and be depleted in perpetual darkness…” [13]  Where’s the clue? Calling Inspector Clouseau!

Decoded, “And [disasters] will happen before a solar eclipse which will be the longest-lasting since 4004 BC…”

What was this secret code? I had studied Nostradamus’s writings and had realized that he used a technique in astrology which was familiar to most ancient astrologers but has long-since been abandoned by today’s astrologers. This technique requires complicated mathematical calculations which were impossible during Nostradamus’s day. But I believe that Nostradamus had a computer from another time! More juicy details on his computer in the next article…

This technique reflects the fact that as planets orbit around our Sun, they get closer for a while, then farther away. The Earth doesn’t travel in a perfect circle around the Sun. It travels in an ellipse (oval). As the Earth gets closer to the Sun, the Sun looks larger. As Earth gets farther away, the Sun looks smaller. The same principle applies to the Moon. It orbits closer to us for a time appearing larger (if during a full moon it’s called a “Supermoon”), and then orbits farther away looking smaller.

Therefore when the Moon looks much larger than usual and the Sun looks smaller (the Sun is “most obscured” and “the darkest”) it would take longer for the face of the Moon to cross the disk of the Sun during a solar eclipse. The opposite is also true. If the Sun and Moon appear smaller we get an eclipse of shorter duration. In Nostradamus’s time, the “official” date that the world began was around 4004 BC. So, decoding part of his phrase from above, Nostradamus said “The longest solar eclipse since 4004 BC”. This was CLUE # 2 – look for a total solar eclipse after his time which will last longer than any for thousands of years.

I went out upon our global machine network of information in 1995 and found a table of solar eclipses calculated by one of NASAs best. What is the date for the longest-lasting solar eclipse in at least ten thousand years? July 16, 2186 AD (CE). [14]

Whew!! At least we don’t have to worry about the end of the world in our lifetimes (unless we live to be over 150 years old). Let’s party like it’s 1999! LOL

You’ll notice in this chart that the eclipse occurs in Cancer, just 8 degrees away from being conjunct Pluto in Leo (the opposite of Aquarius) and is almost exactly opposite Jupiter. This solar eclipse is in very close sextile with Saturn. Also notice the powerful Grand Square between Mars, Saturn, Neptune and the Center of the Galaxy. Uranus is trine Venus. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Venus are all in earth signs – a recipe for global earthquakes. The eclipse point is trine Neptune at the end of its home sign of Pisces perhaps symbolizing the complete end of the Age of Pisces.

The chart of that eclipse follows:

[The object at 29 degrees 27 minutes Sagittarius is the Galactic Center]

Nostradamus writes about another important solar eclipse. It is the one just before this one in the 139th Saros series. Thousands of years ago Babylonian astrologers noticed a pattern in their long list of recorded eclipses. They noticed that a solar eclipse is visible at the same location on Earth every 18 years and 11 days. Many modern astrologers and astronomers track the Saros patterns of eclipses. So I looked at the solar eclipse 18 years before this one in 2186 and found it occurring on July 5th, 2168.

[The object at 29 degrees 12 minutes Sagittarius is the Galactic Center]

This chart reminds me of another passage about The End. In Volume 1 Nostradamus says “Some will assemble in Aquarius for several years, others in Cancer for an even longer period of time”. [15]

CLUE # 3

You’ll notice in this chart for 2168 that three of the outer planets Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are clustered together in Aquarius and will stay there for several years. Supposedly in Nostradamus’s time, no one knew of the existence of the planets Uranus and Neptune (even though he mentions the planet Neptune in several quatrains). “Some will assemble in Aquarius for several years”.

This total solar eclipse, like the one I wrote about earlier, is conjunct Pluto in Cancer. The Sun, Moon, Pluto, Jupiter and Mercury are all in a stellium in that same sign. The sign of the Moon! Pluto will be in that sign for 26 years from September 2157 through August 2183. Each time during that period, when another planet goes around the zodiac, it will for a time go into the sign of Cancer and keep Pluto company. “Others in Cancer for an even longer period of time”.

Here’s another type of secret code that Nostradamus may have used to direct our attention to this eclipse of 2168. The number of the Century/Quatrain is occasionally used as a clue to the number of the year during which it will be fulfilled. So Century 1 Quatrain 69 could be written as 169. Add a “2” to the beginning and we get 2169 (AD). I’ve found a few examples of this secret code in his other prophecies. This quatrain is the one I reproduced above, “The great round mountain of seven stades…” which I believe refers to the arrival of a giant meteor dated around the same time as this eclipse.

Would you like another example of a secret code? If we rotate the digits of the number 69 clockwise 90 degrees we get the symbol for the astrological sign of Cancer, the key sign for “The End”. The zodiacal sign of Cancer seems very prominent in this narrative. Some astrologers say that 90 degrees forward in the zodiac from a point is the “end of the matter” for the things symbolized by or begun during that original point.

[CWT] I believe our Tropical Zodiac is the progressing (actually REgressing) chart of Mother Earth against the base Sidereal Zodiac. If Aries (Tropical) represents its Ascendant, then 90 degrees after it in the Zodiac is Cancer which represents its end (or at least the end of a long period and rebirth).

At the current speed and direction of Precession, the Tropical Zodiac moves 1 degree backwards in the Sidereal Zodiac about every 72 years. This is caused by the Earth’s tilted axis and the wobble in its rotation, symbolizing [CWT] that Mother Earth is “sick”. What if overpopulating and polluting humans are like its “cancer”, its growing “tumor”? Perhaps after The Great Reboot, Earth will enter into its Golden Age of good health. There is also a small probability that during the same time period, Mother Earth may deliver another “child” (the Moon is the ruler of Cancer), to keep Luna company.

In Summary

Nostradamus, like other Renaissance geniuses Leonardo DaVinci and Erasmus, had access to a library of knowledge from ancient times. He studied astrology, astronomy and the true history of the Earth. He learned that at the end of long cycles of time for humans (but only a nanosecond in the Earth’s life) our planet undergoes dramatic changes (The Great Reboot).

These dramatic disasters are brought about by astronomical alterations. Those changes occur after long cycles of thousands of years. Previous Reboots were documented and passed-down to future generations so that they could be warned. That knowledge was re-discovered during the Renaissance, with Michel de Nostredame leading the way.

Truth has always been a treasure to some and a danger to others. Nostradamus risked his life to share what he had learned in order to warn humankind. He had to shroud his writings in secret codes, hoping that some of us in his future would be able to decipher his cryptic verses and understand his warning.

I’ve presented in this article just a few of my discoveries and interpretations of the gems left hidden for us by Nostradamus. If my interpretation of his writing is correct and if he was correct, this current 27,000 year cycle of Precession will end “with a bang” less than two centuries from today with The Great Reboot followed by The Golden Age. A giant meteor striking the Earth between 2168 and 2187 AD (CE) will be one of the mechanisms by which this is accomplished. Two solar eclipses, one of which will be the longest in history, will give us warning (and may be part of the cause).

In an upcoming article on Precession, I will describe how Plato learned about the “Great Year” from a library of global knowledge in a prehistoric Egyptian city which predated Alexandria by thousands of years. I will call upon archeology, astronomy, art and history to show that most ancient cultures were aware of Precession and its effects on all life on our blue planet.

In my next article I will reveal decades of research into just how Nostradamus was able to make his predictions. It will contain some exciting surprises, such as the computer from another time that I believe he used and how it may have ultimately birthed the sciences of Astronomy and Physics.

I hope you will join me for the next articles as I share more exciting secrets about The History of the Future.

For research I recommend the book by Edgar Leoni (see below), which includes Nostradamus’s writings in original French, their translation into English and just about everything that was known about him at the time. Most of the eBook is identical to Leoni’s English translation. My translations are usually different than Leoni’s, decoding what I believe are Nostradamus’s true meanings.
