SUMMARY:May 2026 Meeting Dale O'Brian
DESCRIPTION:Dale O’Brian \nWhen Evil Despots Seize Power…” : RE-MEMBERING CHIRON\nPractical astrology: timeless insights for Saving Soul     $18. Members Free (Year membership $50) \nChiron enters Taurus June 19th 2026 until July 2033 except for the last hurrah in Aries from September 2026 until April 2027. Come find out how Chiron in Taurus and the finishing months in Aries will evolve. \nThe late depth psychologist James Hillman said that when Spirit incarnates into\nMatter\, there be Soul.” Mythological astrological Chiron is the key to understanding\nissues related to Soul. Soul is what makes us and other sentient beings who we are.\nAnimals are “animated” (“in-souled”). Individual humans can keep\, lose or retrieve Soul.\n“Some humans ain’t human” as John Prine sang\, while other humans are blessedly\nSoulful.\nThis sharing will look at contemporary and upcoming planetary placements and\naspects in relation to transiting Chiron. Chiron is now “in the dark” before Chiron’s\nReturn (if any of us make it there in time with bodies and Souls intact). Chiron-related\nstories show us how “against all odds” certain individuals attained the good\, the wise\, the\nsustainable. If they could\, we can! \nDALE O’BRIEN\, 75\, former MAAS member\, began his study of astrology at age 18 and\nbecame a full time astrologer and Jim Lewis-certified Astro*Carto*Grapher in 1991. He\nhas shared diverse astrology in a variety of ways\, including (but not limited to) in-person\nand telephone consultations\, talks and classes for local\, national and international\nastrology organizations\, in print (such as in The Mountain Astrologer)\, one-to-one\ntutoring\, via the radio\, internet interviews\, “online” via his website and Substack\, etc.\nDale was one of the original “brainstormers” of Chiron in the 1980s and presented an\neight-week “Introduction to Chiron” course for MAAS in the 1990s. He currently lives\,\nlike mythological Chiron\, in Nature in Oregon. When actually indoors\, he welcomes\nconversation and inquiries via phone (not text) and/or email or postal mail. \nFree for members. Yearly membership is $50

SUMMARY:October Meeting Alan Clay Pluto's Brothers
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nWe are excited to announce the return of Alan Clay\, the founder and teacher of Dwarf Planet University. On this auspicious day of Pluto moving direct we will discover the meanings of Pluto’s brothers; Ixion and Orcus. Come hear how we can discover the deeper meaning of Orcus a \nnd Ixion. \n\nNew Stars for a New Era\nfocusing on \nThe Karmic Consciousness of Orcus\n \nAnd the Seeker Consciousness of Ixion\n\nMany astrologers believe that new planets are discovered when we are ready to incorporate the new consciousness represented by that planet into our existing consciousness. With the discovery of 10 new planets this century\, we’re entering a period of rapid consciousness development\, and this is enabling a whole new understanding of who and where we are.\n\nThis talk is based on Alan’s book\, New Stars for a New Era: A Consciousness Workbook for our 10 New Planets. It will give an overview of the aspects of consciousness represented by each of our ten new planets and then go into more detail on Ixion\, Pluto’s new lawless brother\, who enables us to push boundaries\, follow our bliss\, and be authentic in our spirituality\, and on Orcus\, Pluto’s new straight-talking brother\, who teaches us to align with a creed\, to develop karmic integrity\, and at the top level to transmute shadow into light. We will look at exercises to practically apply the energy\, and at house interpretations with examples of famous people\, to bring them to life.\n\nTo make this information practical\, at the end of the talk we will look at Ixion and Orcus’ placement in a few charts of participants. If you would like your chart included\, send your birth date\, place\, & time in advance to alan@artmedia.com.au\n\nThe talk has grown out of research at the Dwarf Planet University where we see\, by simply making these new aspects conscious\, students become empowered and their lives are transformed. We need to engage with these new consciousness energies to take them out of the unconscious area of action. To enable this\, both the talk and the book include consciousness exercises for each planet\, so we can on-board their energy in our lives. As we do\, we will become empowered\, and our lives will be transformed.\n\nNew Stars for a New Era: A Consciousness Workbook for our 10 New Planets\n“Alan Clay has written a comprehensive book on the newly discovered dwarf planets\, exploring everything from their mythology to practical application. More than just reading about these celestial bodies\, Alan shows us how to work with their energies and incorporate them into our lives. Best of all\, the book is accessible to both seasoned astrologers and novices eager to gain an understanding of the emergence of new consciousnesses in our world. A strong recommendation for this groundbreaking book.”   Armand Diaz\, from an upcoming review in the NCGR Memberletter\n__\n\n\nAlan Clay is a New Zealand writer & astrologer. He is the NCGR International Delegate for New Zealand and one of the most popular speakers in the International Talks program. Reviewers are calling his book\, New Stars for a New Era: A Consciousness Workbook for our 10 New Planets\, “groundbreaking” & “highly recommended”. In 2020 he founded the Dwarf Planet University\, where he teaches online classes helping students understand these new planets in their personal charts.  www.dwarfplanet.university

Katherine will introduce ancient timing techniques\, including planetary days and hours\, and show how they can enrich our understanding of dreams. \n🔮 THE THREE SISTERS OF THE CRAFT\nAstrology • Alchemy • Magic \nDrawing on both ancient and modern astrological techniques\, Katherine will share chart examples pairing dreams with significant life events\, incorporating Saturn cycles\, asteroids\, Arabic Lots\, lunar nodes\, and fixed stars. \n\n\n\n✨ ABOUT DR. KATHERINE O’CONNELL\nDr. Katherine O’Connell has been an astrologer for more than six decades\, as well as a clinical psychologist\, Interfaith Minister\, coach\, educator\, and author. Her lifelong fascination with synchronicity began in childhood\, when she noticed that dreams sometimes seemed to anticipate events that later unfolded. \nHer journey into astrology began as a teenager after discovering Carl Jung\, metaphysics\, and astrology. She began practicing astrology professionally in 1969 while living in Berkeley\, California\, eventually earning a Ph.D. in psychology\, along with an R.N. and Master’s in Public Health. \nHer career has woven together psychology\, astrology\, health\, spirituality\, ministry\, and coaching. Before the age of 30\, she was consulting on healthcare policy to the administration of President Jimmy Carter. She later developed an international coaching and mentoring practice and has taught psychology at undergraduate\, graduate\, and doctoral levels. \nKatherine has studied with and known influential figures in psychology and astrology\, including Dane Rudhyar\, Fritz Perls\, and Joseph Henderson\, a protégé of Carl Jung\, as well as spiritual teachers including His Holiness the Dalai Lama. \n🌙 DREAMS & ASTROLOGY\nDreams have been a major focus of Katherine’s research for decades. She has presented papers to the International Association for the Study of Dreams and has explored the relationship between dreams\, astrology\, and physical health. In the 1980s\, she coined the term “Medical Dreamwork” and has continued presenting and teaching on the subject. \nHer astrological practice draws from both ancient and modern techniques\, including natal charts\, progressions\, solar returns\, profections\, horary\, and timing techniques. She is particularly interested in the connections between dreams\, lunar nodes\, soul purpose\, Arabic Lots\, asteroids\, and fixed stars. \nAs a teacher and storyteller\, Katherine describes astrology as an alchemical blend of skill\, intuition\, and oracular consciousness—a tradition she continues to explore and bring into contemporary practice. \n🌟 JOIN US FOR AN EVENING OF DREAMS\, SYMBOLS & CELESTIAL CYCLES\nBring your curiosity—and perhaps your dream journal—and discover how paying attention to when we dream can open another doorway into the language of astrology. \nZOOM — FREE FOR MAAS MEMBERS\nThursday\, October 21 • 7:30 PM Eastern \nContact for more information.
