Matter, there be Soul.” Mythological astrological Chiron is the key to understanding
issues related to Soul. Soul is what makes us and other sentient beings who we are.
Animals are “animated” (“in-souled”). Individual humans can keep, lose or retrieve Soul.
“Some humans ain’t human” as John Prine sang, while other humans are blessedly
Soulful.
This sharing will look at contemporary and upcoming planetary placements and
aspects in relation to transiting Chiron. Chiron is now “in the dark” before Chiron’s
Return (if any of us make it there in time with bodies and Souls intact). Chiron-related
stories show us how “against all odds” certain individuals attained the good, the wise, the

DALE O’BRIEN, 75, former MAAS member, began his study of astrology at age 18 and

has shared diverse astrology in a variety of ways, including (but not limited to) in-person

Dale was one of the original “brainstormers” of Chiron in the 1980s and presented an
eight-week “Introduction to Chiron” course for MAAS in the 1990s. He currently lives,
