I'm a self-taught amateur astrologer and bookworm. Dad brought home a paperback when we lived in Saudi Arabia. I became fascinated and taught myself the basics.
Conservative by nature, I was leery about predicting the future (really trends) through progressions and transits; however, Julie's presentation of the chart of the Titanic's sinking at a MAAS event hooked me. I found it eerie and fascinating. Kathryn also suggested I purchase some software. Because of Julie and Kathryn, I expanded my horizons. I have also added Chiron and Black Moon Lilith to my readings. I have explored Mundane Astrology a bit as well. I combine astrology with history, psychology, law and religion. I have a B.A. in History, a MS/PPS in Counseling, and a credential in School Psychology I was a School Psychologist by trade. I have a law degree as well but was not a good student. To test the validity of transits and progressions I wrote an article about the sinking of the Titanic, Lusitania, and Andrea Doria. There's something there. I am an in-house writer for MAAS--some call it a blog--and have written about forty-five articles. I write about topics I think will catch the fancy of people, so they join our organization. I am indebted as well to Pat Lantz, a quite knowledgeable professional astrologer. She adds headings and pictures to my articles and makes sound suggestions.
