About Elena Lumen, Phd
Elena Lumen, PhD, is a traditional astrologer, retired psychologist, and healing arts professional with a thriving online consulting and teaching practice. She specializes in traditional Western astrology, with a focus on horary, predictive, and electional techniques. Her current research interests include Persian and Arabic astrology, as well as the role of astrology in mental health and spiritual guidance.
Dr. Lumen serves on the faculty of the International Academy of Astrology and is the founder of the Lumen School of Classical Astrology, where she teaches courses in horary, predictive, and electional astrology. She is an internationally recognized lecturer and frequently presents at astrological organizations worldwide, including ISAR, OPA, and will be presenting at UAC 2026. Dr. Lumen also leads an ongoing tutoring group and offers personalized instruction to her students.
In 2011, she completed her doctoral dissertation on the archetypal and psychological value of astrology in the search for meaning at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in California. After graduation, she worked for a decade as a psychotherapist specializing in creative expression and trauma-informed care.
