In the mid-seventies, I moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia. I joined the Edgar Cayce Foundation A.R.E (Association for Research and Education) and took my first classes in astrology. Then I moved with my family to Sarasota, FL where I became close friends with Bob and Emylu Hughes, a friendship that lasted over 20 years. They were professional astrologers, astrology authors and active members of the AFA (American Federation of Astrologers). Over the years there, I learned astrology in much more detail and belonged to a local astrology group. I also became a Life Member of the American Federation of Astrologers (LMAFA). I raised my two sons in Sarasota. As adults, one lives in Atlanta, GA and one is married with two children in San Diego, CA.
Professionally in Sarasota, I became an LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) and Certified Sex Therapist and practiced as a therapist while I lived there. Having played French horn in bands since fourth grade, I joined the local community band in Sarasota. From there I moved to Prescott, AZ. I was lucky to join a metaphysical group called Mile High Mystics. The group was a mix of psychics, tarot card readers, angel card readers and a chair massage therapist. I was the only Astrologer. We had psychic fairs four times a year where I gave astrology readings. I was in the group for about ten years. The group had been in existence for over 20 years but shortly before I left there the group disbanded after losing several members. While in Prescott I joined the Prescott POPS, Central Arizona Concert Band (CACB) and the Yavapai College Band and Orchestra. I became the librarian for the POPS and the CACB. This lead to being offered a job at Yavapai College as the instrumental librarian and administrator. I kept this job until the instrumental music director, my boss, retired. On to the beautiful state of Georgia. I moved to Gainesville, GA because they have a good community band, the Believers Concert Band. Knowing my history, they asked me to be their music librarian, which I still am. Although I’ve lived in Georgia only 6 years, I am a direct descendant of a Georgian governor from the early 1800’s, Gen. George Mathews, who also served in the Revolutionary War. I am originally from Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn State University. Therefore I am a football fan of the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Georgia Bulldogs. To continue my interests in astrology I joined the Metro Atlanta Astrology Society (MAAS). And as seems to be my calling, have become their librarian.
