The Mathematics of Casting Astrological Charts

This class is designed for those who want to learn the mathematics of casting a natal chart and secondary progressions. No prior knowledge of this process is needed.

The following will be covered: Calculating Local Mean Time, Sidereal Time and Greenwich Time of birth, calculating planets for longitude and declination, house cusp interpolation and how to calculate the ACD (Accelerated Correction Date) for secondary progressions. Mastery of these tools will enable one to sit for professional certification exams that require a thorough understanding of the mathematical process of casting and progressing charts.

Tools needed: The American Ephemeris for the 20th Century at Noon by Neil F. Michelsen, Swiss Ephemeris Table of Houses, System Placidus for Northern Hemisphere, access to a calculator with a memory function. Written instructions and calculation forms will be provided and all classes will be digitally recorded, enabling students to access audio files at their leisure.
